School Holiday Dance Camps

Autumn Camp - 26 & 27 April 2022, 9am-3pm 

Spring Camp - 10,11 & 12 October 2022, 9am-3pm

VENUE: Dance Wanaka Studios, 19 Cliff Wilson St, Wanaka.

AGES:  5-12yrs (participants split into junior & elementary age groups once enrolments submitted)  

A school holiday programme actioned packed full of dance, music & art. This fun filled camp is perfect for young enthusiastic dancers & those with creative flair. Shaping up to include Modern Jazz, Classical Ballet, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Lyrical, Contemporary, Applied Art Workshops, and conclude with a fun display to parents & friends. We have a fantastic line up of talented tutors for the kids to enjoy!

Ideal for young performers with or without experience. Past participants have come from West Coast, Dunedin, Omarama, Cromwell & Te Anau to get their dance & drama fix! So everyone is welcome, but be in quick as we offer 30 spaces only. 

COVID regulations - If dancers are unwell, you must inform the Studio Manager & must not attend. Parents will need to wear masks when dropping off or picking up children.  Dancers are split into 2 groups and we use the 2 studio spaces to spread out.  

FEE: $100 (2 days) & $140 (3 days).  Fee includes art resources.

TUTORS:

Dance Wanaka staff & senior dancers in the school keen to share their passion with younger students.

WHAT TO BRING:   

What to wear: Exercise/dance clothing & casual clothes for art workshops.   

Food: named drink bottle, morning tea snacks & packed lunch. 

Shoes: bring runners/sneakers for Hip Hop, ballet flats or jazz shoes (if have), alternatively socks & bare feet is fine. Plus appropriate footwear for the playground at lunchtime.

CAMP TIMETABLE:  

The timetable below is a guideline only. It is subject to change in accordance to confirmed enrolments & ability levels

• We will adhere to Covid health regulations, which will likely include changes of timetable to ensure no congregation of dancers in the waiting room during break time.  Parents/Guardians must wear masks on drop off/pick up. 
• Dancers who tire throughout the morning, are welcome to rest or watch.
• Focus will be on having fun learning a variety of dance styles, rather than technique/correction
• Adult supervision will be guaranteed throughout the morning & breaks.  Safety & well being of dancers will be of high priority.
• Please inform us of any medication, health or food concerns in advance.
