Ticket Info

BUY TICKETS - Online through Try Booking or door sales will be available (cash only).  Dance Wanaka students do not need to purchase tickets to sit with their family in the audience after they have performed. 

Ticket prices are $15 for adults & $5 for school aged children/teens. Under 3yrs are free if seated on parents lap. 

If you are a DW parent with children performing in both displays or wish to come to both events, there is no need to purchase 2 tickets. Just purchase a ticket to the Junior display only & revalidate it in the front foyer for the Senior display.   There is no fee for DW dancers if you are wearing your dance uniform.

Junior Display

Event starts at 1pm.  Duration likely 60 minutes. Dancers to arrive 12:30-12:45pm.

Classes performing in this display incl: Sparkles Preschool, Lil Stars Ballet, Primary 1&2 Ballet (Wanaka & Cromwell), Junior 1&2 Ballet (Wanaka & Cromwell), Grade 1&2 Ballet, Lil Popstar Jazz, Jazz Junior 1&2, Hip Hop Mini Groovers & Crew 1, Broadway Babies.  Junior Tap. Junior & Senior Troupes.

On Arrival... 

PRESCHOOLERS can go straight to the stage (via the Armstrong Room) with a parent helper & find class assistant. You will dance early and immediately after a troupe dance.

WANAKA dancers (aged 5+years) can meet & store their bags in the Armstrong Room. Dancers can then sit together in their class groups in front of the stage and watch before performing. 

CROMWELL dancers will meet & store their bags in the Faulks Room. This is located up the stairs from the foyer. Get changed and put your dance shoes on.  Dancers can then sit together in their class groups near the front of the stage and watch before performing. 

Senior Display 

Event starts at 3pm. Duration likely 90-120 minutes. Dancers to arrive 2:30-2:45pm and warm up. 

Classes performing in this display incl: Ballet Grades 4&5, Elementary Ballet (Cromwell), Intermediate Foundation, Advanced 1&2 Ballet, Jazz Junior 3, Elementary Jazz, Intermediate Jazz, Advanced Jazz, Junior Tap, Musical Theatre, All Contemporary classes, Acro 1-2, Hip Hop Crews 2 to Senior. Solo Seal Jazz. Junior & Senior Troupes. 

On Arrival - All dancers to store your bags in the Armstrong room. Get changed, put your dance shoes on, and then find your group. Move upstairs to watch & support other dancers. Five items or 10mins before you're scheduled to dance, meet with your group in the Armstrong room, warm yourselves up & move to side of stage (through the Armstrong Room) & wait.

What to wear  

This is a public performance so all dancers NEED to be in class uniform with very tidy hair.

JAZZ = Red DW singlet or Black DW Ava singlet, black leggings & tan jazz shoes.  Hair in bun or braided.

BALLET = Long hair MUST be tidily groomed in a bun by all ballet dancers.

Primary/Beginner (5-6yrs) - Chloe dress, ballet shoes & pink socks. 

Junior & Grades 1&2 - Lavender leotard, skirt, ballet flats & pink tights. 

Grades 3,4 & 5 - Navy leotard, skirt, ballet flats & pink tights. 

Intermediate & Advanced levels = Girls to wear black leotard & skirt, ballet flats & pink tights. Boys in black/white exam uniform. 

HIP HOP = Long hair tied back in a neat pony tail or braided.

Crews 1-2 to wear red DW tee, black ¾ pants, black socks & own shoes. 

Senior crew - to wear black DW tee, long black pants, black socks & own shoes. 

CONTEMPORARY = all to wear black leggings, red DW singlet (Junior) or black DW singlet (Senior). Hair in braids or bun.

TAP = Red DW singlet (junior) & Black singlet (elementary+), black ¾ leggings (girls) or shorts (boys), black socks & tap shoes.

Musical Theatre = same as Jazz above.

Acro = Red singlet (Acro 1-2) & Black singlet (Acro 3), black leggings.  Barefeet or half ballet flats.

Preschool dancer info

All preschoolers are to wear their own choice of clothing (with exception of Lil Stars Ballet) in theme with the dance item. Ballet flat shoes are optional only. Something colourful would be nice as the stage is black. Avoid long princess dresses that cover your legs. Please ensure that long hair is tied back off face.  On arrival come straight to the front of the auditorium & sit in your class groups. We will bring you on to the stage in your groups altogether. 

Sparkles dancers to bring a box (Cromwell, Wednesday & Saturday classes only). 

Tiny Dancers are welcome to join Sparkles dancers on stage if feeling confident to dance without their parent/guardian.

Lil Stars Ballet dancers can bring some ribbons/scarf (or provided) for rainbow dance. Girls to wear your white tutu dress, pink socks/tights, & ballet flats. Boys to wear black/white uniform.

What am I performing?  

Check with your teacher or see the Run Sheet in the waiting room. We expect you to arrive before the beginning of each display and stay for the duration so you can all support one another.

All tiered seating in the auditorium is for family & friends ONLY.  Dancers must sit in their groups so we can easily find you.
